Project Description
CNBC needed a management system for a B2B and B2C video subscription service.
Requirements
- Gain more control over media publishing tasks to ensure that market updates, breaking stories, and event schedules are up-to-date.
- Regulate how end users access clips, including controlled access to archives, number of plays, and viewing bitrate.
- Drive business by giving end users a greater scope of new and archived content for their subscription dollars.

- Developed a custom scheduling tool with one interface to schedule events to be encoded, approved, and syndicated.
- Using subscription types such as yearly, trial, and monthly, and personal and corporate accounts, set rules on when and how content is available, who can access it, and when it expires.
- Implemented MyCNBC, a personalized consumer subscription, and supports three live feeds and video-on-demand for CNBC Plus.
Results
CNBC gives users access to more than 25,000 clips, including content from CNBC Asia, CNBC Europe, and CNBC US.
