mpsConnect

Take the pain out of digital media syndication

mpsConnect services are written for a growing network of specific media outlets such as MSN Video and SprintTV. With mpsConnect, content providers can quickly and reliably publish broadband video to a wide variety of broadband media sites and mobile carriers. Ingest media objects once and publish them anywhere—mpsConnect significantly reduces the time and complexity required to support and manage distribution agreements, letting you concentrate instead on capturing new digital media syndication opportunities.

Connectors are built on thePlatform media publishing services, which are designed to be format-agnostic. As a result, mpsConnect services support a wide range of audio and video formats that are typically found in rich media publishing, including Windows Media, MPEG, MP4, and QuickTime.

How it works

  1. A content provider enters a media object into the ingest wizard.
The ingest wizard has a re-usable "ingest template" for each outlet account that defines exactly the information this outlet requires. When a piece of media is published to multiple outlet accounts, the ingest wizard merges matching ingest templates and produces an ingest form that shows only the outlet accounts with which the content owner has syndication agreements. This frees up staff from repetitive file management tasks that usually plague media ingest procedures.
  2. Media is correctly transcoded.
The publish service obtains the source media file and encodes the files to meet the outlet account's encoding standards.
  3. Publishing to the distribution outlet occurs automatically.
When metadata and the media file are sent to the destination server, the outlet account's internal publishing processes are triggered. This ensures that the distributor's own publishing rules are applied before content is available to end users.
