Development Lead - Professional Services
thePlatform, a subsidiary of Comcast, is hiring a Software Development Lead for our Professional Services team.
The company's flagship product, thePlatform Media Publishing System (MPS), is the industry's most comprehensive solution for media, entertainment and enterprise customers. Our Professional Services team builds customer applications that utilize MPS's publishing, syndication and commerce features to provide a customized end-user experience on the desktop or on mobile devices. Our solutions have become high-profile destinations for customers such as CNBC, Microsoft, Comcast, Verizon, and many others.
The Development Lead will combine a strong development background and leadership experience to direct the development efforts of internal and outsourced projects for a variety of customers.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and process direction to development teams building customer-specific applications with thePlatform's MPS services.
- Provide guidance on best practices for developers working with our products and SDKs.
- Collaborate closely with outsourced development teams to ensure high quality.
- Collaborate closely with internal development teams to continually refine process and best practices.
- Assist program managers with customer communication as needed.
- Work with solution architects on effective product design.
- Work with project managers to manage resource availability.
- Ensure that outsourced projects pass in-house acceptance testing.
- Ensure deployment process is followed for hosted applications.
- Manage on-site contractors as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years experience in the design and development of modern enterprise web applications and distributed systems.
- At least 3 years experience leading a development team through the entire product development lifecycle.
- Solid background in Java, XML, Web Services, and relevant design patterns.
- Strong intuition for elegant object-oriented design with Java.
- Experience with database schema design, stored procedures, and tuning with SQL Server or Oracle.
- Enthusiasm for Agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to deliver production-ready software in short iterations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- A passion for design and a drive to get the details right.
- A dedication to customer satisfaction.
- BS Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- C#/.Net experience a plus.
