In the same week that Yahoo! announces that they are shutting down Maven, Joost announces that they are joining the video management fray. And so the wheels turn. The exits and entries into our market got me thinking about our experiences at thePlatform. As an active leader in the online video publishing space for nine years, we've seen a lot.

For 40 years, INTELECOM Intelligent Telecommunications has been a leader in distance learning, pioneering the development and distribution of multimedia learning resources and curriculum-based courseware for higher education. Their INTELECOM Online Resources Network is a great example of how they're rising to the challenges of education distribution, and we want to congratulate them on the site's recognition by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Today we announced our new mpsManage Ingest Service, which adds to our suite of services designed to reduce the total cost of ownership for running a broadband video company. This service provides an easy way to ingest media and its associated metadata into our media publishing system.
PDK 4.0.2 is Now Available

The improvements just keep coming in our Player Development Kit 4 (PDK 4). PDK 4.0.2 offers improved support for dynamic visual elements that give the player developer the option to create a "smart player" that can changes its design elements on-the-fly in response to changes in the metadata or at run time. In addition, the new version of the PDK has support for even more plug-ins, including two for DoubleClick InStream, and supports more closed-captioning standards.
