thePlatform Begins New Initiatives in Silicon Valley

SEATTLE and SAN FRANCISCO, July 15, 2008 –

thePlatform, the leading broadband video management and publishing company, today announced that it has acquired assets from San Francisco-based Chirp Interactive, Inc., a provider of social media applications. thePlatform will have access to key Chirp assets and Chirp’s technical development resources as select personnel will become employees of thePlatform. In addition, thePlatform announced that it is now actively investigating ways to attract technical talent from Silicon Valley, including opening a branch office.

Chirp has launched internet applications that combined social networking with media consumption capabilities. While thePlatform disclosed that it will not continue Chirp’s services moving forward, the company said that it will build new community and content discovery features into its media publishing system, leveraging the expertise of Chirp’s core product development team.
